Variety Info:

We grow chestnut seedlings, and not grafted clones. This is often preferred to avoid delayed graft failure which can be a problem. It also just makes a tougher tree, especially in our climate, and seedlings give excellent nuts. While seedlings won’t be clones of their parents, they will likely carry some of their excellent traits.

• Qing—Chinese chestnut with large very sweet nuts. Disease resistant excellent tree.
• Sleeping Giant—A consistent yielding chestnut hybrid well adapted to the Northeast. A Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station selection with proven blight resistance.
• Luvall’s Monster—An exceedingly high yielding complex hybrid variety with the largest chestnuts I’ve ever seen.
• Hybrid— These are open pollinated hybrid seedlings of mixed parentage.
