Comfrey is a medicinal powerhouse too, traditionally used to speed wound healing and soothe sore muscles. (Just remember to check with a healthcare professional before using it medicinally.) Growing comfrey is a breeze. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts to most soil types, though it prefers rich, moist soil. Once established, it’s incredibly low-maintenance and drought-tolerant. As you’ve probably heard, it’s very difficult to get rid of once established. So put it somewhere you want it for a long time (not in your vegetable garden). Does great as a groundcover around trees.

Comfrey is hardy in USDA zones 3-9, making it suitable for most climates. Try this super useful plant today! It propagates very easily from root fragments so once you have some, you can make as many more as you want.

Variety Info:

• Bocking 14: This is a vigorous sterile comfrey which will not spread by runners or seeds.
• Hidcote Blue: This is a shorter comfrey with beautiful blue flowers that will spread by rhizomes. Makes a great groundcover in the orchard. Not for in the vegetable garden!
